Hello and Welcome to Robins Class and
The Norman CE Primary School.
Welcome to the new school term, this half-term we will be focusing our learning on Space. We will be learning lots of fascinating facts about what lies beyond planet Earth, we will explore gravity and discover what different planets are made of. During our adult led sessions we will learn about astronomers from the past including Galileo and Caroline Herschel and we will learn the story of the astronaut Mae Jemison and Britain’s current famous astronaut Tim Peake.
Our English text is Whatever Next by Jill Murphy, where we will be focusing more on character and setting descriptions as well as our who, what, when questions.
In Maths we will be focusing on numbers from 6-10 as well as capacity, length and weight.
On Tuesdays, we will begin to learn about the pulse in music and explore different ways of finding the pulse in different songs and in PE we will focus on movement with skills such as hopping, skipping and gliding. On Fridays, our PE will consist of gymnastics with Mr Tweed and with Mrs Smith we will learn about keeping our healthy and how to maintain healthy lifestyles during PSHE.
We would like to hold a phonics session this half-term where parent and carers can come in and join their children for a phonics lesson, look out for dates to be advertised soon.
