The Norman

Netball Cluster Event, March 2017

March saw the Normans compete in the Cluster event at Iceni Academy, Methwold on a bright, sunny day. With five teams in the competition, the Normans played against small and big schools from within the Methwold cluster of primary schools.

The team started off slow and steady, passing the ball accurately but were unable to get past the Mundford defence. The Norman defence was also solid and didn't concede any goals leaving the final score 0-0, first point on the board!

The second game against Iceni, Hockwold was similar to the first with the team finding their feet having rotated positions after the first game. Once again the team didn't score or concede, so another 0-0 draw and another point.

The third game saw the Normans compete against fellow Trinity team Methwold. Always guaranteed to be a  good competetive game between the children who have become friends at all the different cluster events. This game also ended in a draw but this time both teams scored one goal each with the Daisy netting a fabulous goal for the Normans in the last minute of the game.

The final game saw the Normans really playing well, having warmed up in the first three games and take all three points. The positions played by the children in this game saw the team gel and pass the ball accurately and quickly resulting in a 3-1 win for the team, all three goals taken by Toby.

The final results saw the Normans come runners up behind Methwold. Both teams were unbeaten throughout the event but Methwold edged it with one more win. An excellent tournament thoroughly enjoyed by all the children and Mrs Zawiasa, who due to an umpiring role, didn't get any photographs of the children playing!

Well done Team Norman - Toby, Cameron, Mia, Tilly, Aimee, Daisy and Izabelle.
