Having been part of the judging panel, Norman pupils looked on with anticipation as the winner of the Blue Peter Book Awards was announced last Thursday.
Earlier this year Maisie, Callum and Tallulah from New York class took part in the judging of the Blue Peter Book Awards 2012 by reading the four shortlisted books and submitting their reviews and voting slips.
On Thursday 1st March avid readers tuned into the CBBC channel to watch a special edition of Blue Peter dedicated to the awards. New York class watched the footage in class the next morning and let out an almighty cheer as Gareth P. Jones' book The Considine Curse was revealed to be the winner. Callum and Maisie had both selected this book as their favourite, whilst Tallulah picked out A Year Without Autumn by Liz Kessler as her firm favourite.
A number of other children in the class now have their heads stuck into The Considine Curse, keen to find out what all the fuss is about!
